This is an Elgin Motorbike that may have been built in 1923 or 1924 by Excelsior.
It is in as found condition. I added the head light.
The head light is close to correct, except it has a switch,
the correct head light had the switch on the tank and not on the head light.
At first, I expected this bike to need a battery can for the light.
I have since learned that the tank should have a battery tray and switch.
I either need to find an original tray and switch or reproduce the tray and switch.
I would also like to find an original unrestored seat that is in better condition and tires.
In the picture below, you can see the two holes in the tank which are for
screws that attach the battery tray and a slot for the head light switch.
In the picture below, you can see the hole in the tank for the head light wires.
