Raleigh Competition Mk II – Reynolds 531 – Original Survivor – 22.5″

1974–1976

Excellent example of a largely original Raleigh Competition Mk II in very nice unrestored condition.

Size

Frame: 22.5″ (center to top)

Components

  • Reynolds 531 double-butted frame and fork
  • Huret Jubilee front and rear derailleurs
  • Specialités TA Professional 3-arm crankset
  • Normandy Competition quick-release hubs
  • AVA tubular rims
  • Weinmann center-pull brakes

To the best of my knowledge, the bike retains all of its original components except for the handlebars, stem, brake levers, Suntour Barcon shifters, Selle Italia saddle, KKT pedals, and tires.

The frame, fork, paint, decals, and chrome are all in remarkably nice original condition.

Based on Raleigh catalogs, this bike appears to date from the 1974–1976 model years. I will update the listing if I am able to confirm the exact production year from the serial number.

Condition

Excellent “as found” condition. The bike has not been restored or refinished.

The front tire is a good used Continental Competition tubular. The bike was missing its rear tire when I acquired it, so I installed a new Continental Competition tubular tire on the rear. The rear tire has not been glued.

A full bearing service is recommended due to the age of the bike, including cleaning and greasing the headset, bottom bracket, and wheel bearings.
