I recently acquired this Zeus Competition bicycle at the Jafco Swap Meet in Stockton on October 12, 2024. After bringing it home, I performed an initial light cleaning and took the photographs you see here.
Specifications and Observations:
- Estimated production year: Between 1969 and 1971
- Frame: Original Zeus Competition
- Lugs: Possibly painted black by a previous owner
- Rims: Upgraded to Rigida clinchers (non-original)
- Brake levers: Replaced with Dia-Compe (non-original)
- Pedals: Currently Lyotard Marcel Berthet (non-original)
Modifications and Future Plans:
- Complete overhaul and detailing.
- I have a pair of original Zeus pedals that I plan to install.
- I’m currently searching for a set of period-correct Zeus brake levers to replace the Dia Compe ones.
